Val Gardena, part of Italy’s famous Sellaronda ski circuit in The Dolomites, has a selection of events, parties and special offers to close out the 2022/23 season.
The ‘Rock the Dolomites’ music festival runs from 18-26 March 2023. The programme includes blues, rock ‘n’ roll, rock, pop, reggae, indie and funk.
A Spring Race Party starts at 12.30pm on 25 March. Participants race through an obstacle challenge over 10.5km from Seceda to Ortisei, starting at Seceda mountain station, and then on to Curona slope, Curona hut, Costamula hut, Café Val d’Anna, Pauli hut, La Curta, Luis Trenker, and over to Little St. Antonio Square in Ortisei.
There are games to take part in at each of the huts along the way. The team with the most creative outfits – chosen by the audience – will secure its place for the 2024 race.
The Sudtirol Gardenissima Giant Slalom takes place on the 2 & 3 April. It claims to be the longest giant slalom in the world at 6km and the course runs from Monte Seceda to the Col Raiser Valley Station.
The kids’ slalom stage is held on 3 April, with a 2km course that weaves from Monte Seceda to the Fermeda Valley Station.
