6 Best Holidays for Single Skiers from Iglu Ski

Hotel Mura

Each winter Iglu Ski makes arrangements for skiers in search of single rooms. Often it’s a couple of friends or a small group travelling together, who prefer their own rooms.

Sometimes it’s an odd number of people in need of a single room to add to a double. Some skiers go solo, and head for resorts where they know there’s a party in town, such as Bansko, St. Anton, Ischgl or Val Thorens.

Whilst it’s true that single rooms in chalets are few and far between, Iglu Ski can recommend single rooms in hotels or sole occupancy of an apartment. Here is their pick of the best for the rest of this season.

Iglu Ski’s top 6 single rooms for skiers this winter:

Iglu Ski offers 7 nights at the 3* Hotel Posta al Cervo, Selva Val Gardena, Italy from £753, based on sole occupancy, half board, departing on 23 March 2024 from Glasgow (+£404 London Gatwick; +£404 Manchester; +£467 Birmingham) and including transfers. The family-run Posta al Cervo near the centre of Selva is owned by a welcoming couple. They’re very friendly and more than happy to help or advise you while you stay in their homely, traditional hotel. Italy

Iglu Ski offers 7 nights at the 3* Friedrichsburg Garni Hotel, Bad Hofgastein, Austria, from £783 based on sole occupancy, Bed & Breakfast, departing on 9 March 2024 from London Heathrow (+£4 London Gatwick; +£152 Manchester; +£45 Birmingham; +£245 Liverpool; +£81 Liverpool) and including transfers. A no-fuss stay in the centre of the resort is the Friedrichsburg Garni in a nutshell. You’re a few minutes’ walk from a ski bus stop, so getting to the slopes is simple. And once you’re done for the day, you can pop out for a saunter around the shops, a spot of ice skating or a sauna in the huge Alpentherme Spa. Austria

Iglu Ski offers 7 nights at the 3* Sowell Hotel Le Parc and Spa, Serre Chevalier, France, from £1,220 based on sole occupancy, all-inclusive, departing on 24 March 2024 from London Gatwick (+£980 Glasgow; +£1 Manchester) and including transfers. Centrally-located in Briançon, you’ll be under 5 minutes’ walk from the Prorel lift to take you up to ski Serre Chevalier, and just as close to all the town has on offer – there are bars, restaurants, shops, leisure and spa facilities as well as a casino close by. Breakfast and evening meals are buffet-style and if you’re looking to kick back after a few hours on the slopes, take a dip in the hotel’s swimming pool or relax in the sauna. France

Iglu Ski offers 7 nights at the 3.5* Bergo Apartments, Beitostolen, Norway, from £1,289 based on sole occupancy, self-catering, departing on 3 March 2024 from Manchester (+£60 London Heathrow) and including transfers. If you’re after a simple, self-catered stay then the Bergo Apartments are tough to beat. The location is ideal – just a few minutes’ walk from the chairlift and ski school meeting point, with a supermarket on hand for stocking up on supplies. Norway

As the free ski bus stops right outside, getting to the slopes is simple. Andorra

Iglu Ski’s Head of Product & Commercial, Gordon Ritter says: “There are many reasons why someone may be looking for a single room on a ski trip, and we are pleased to offer a wide range of options in all grades of accommodation, both hotels and apartments. It’s easy to meet new friends in resort, either in ski school, or in a welcoming hotel. For friends who prefer their own rooms, it’s no problem, we can help, and for larger groups with odd numbers, there’s no need to cram into a triple or quad room, with the current offers available.”
