Warren Smith Ski Academy GAP Snowsports Instructor courses set to go ahead this season in Verbier
The Warren Smith Ski Academy has launched its new GAP ski program for the 2021-22 winter season, based in Verbier, Switzerland, with two start dates in early December and February.
Students will aim to qualify as IASI (Irish Association of Snowsports Instructors) Level 1 & 2 ski instructors, providing them with a qualification that is recognised in a number of countries around the world.

Ski Mountaineering will be put forward as an additional sport to the programme of the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026. The IOC Executive Board has forwarded this proposal to the next IOC Session in Tokyo in July.

Sir Tom Moore became a media star last year when he raised £33million for charity by walking laps of his garden to celebrate his 100th birthday.
The nation mourned this national hero when he passed away on 2 February this year, but his fundraising legacy lives on and Sir Tom Moore’s daughter has set the ‘100 Challenge’ on what would have been his 101st Birthday on Saturday 1 May.

When actor Johnny Briggs joined ITV’s famous soap Coronation Street in 1976 as the cockney ducker and diver Mike Baldwin, he only expected his contract to last a couple of months at the most. But he was to become one of the programme’s most popular characters and he stayed in the fictional town of Weatherfield for 30 years. While running the local underwear factory, the storylines concerning his affairs with Deirdre Barlow and runs-ins with her husband Ken became must-see TV.
