Beijing 2022: Muir and Summerhayes both make it through to slopestyle final
Team GB’s freestyle skiers Kirsty Muir and Katie Summerhayes have both qualified in the top 12 for the slopestyle final. Muir, who came fifth in the Big Air final earlier in the Games, finished sixth in qualifying with a best run of 70.11 and Summerhayes, who missed out on making the Big Air final by one place, progressed in 10th spot with 66.56.

UPDATE: Travelski Express cancels 21 January departure
Travelski Express, which this season reintroduced a ski train service to the French Alps, issued a recent statement concerning the travel situation to France which said: “With the continued restrictions on travel between the UK and France Travelski regrets to confirm the cancellation of the Travelski Express departure planned for the 21 January.

British skiers and snowboarders finally get a chance to ride fast new gondola to the Eiger

Last month (December 2021) marked the first chance for British skiers and snowboarders visiting Switzerland to take the swish new gondola – the culmination of a £400 million project – from Grindelwald to the highest piste on the Eiger, shaving an astonishing 47 minutes off the journey time.

Legendary ski instructor Ron LeMaster dies after collision
The North American snow sports industry is mourning the death of a ski coach and instructor who wrote several books that became ‘bibles’ for ski instructors.
Ron LeMaster, (pictured) aged 72, was skiing at Eldora Mountain Resort on Tuesday, 30 November, when he was involved in a collision with a snowboarder and died at the scene. Police investigations into the incident are ongoing.
