Ormerod fifth in Snowboard Big Air World Cup
https://solomedicalsupply.com/2024/08/07/zyf69cel Katie Ormerod secured a 5th place finish in the Copper Mountain Snowboard Big Air World Cup, despite having to pull out of the final due to a minor injury. After qualifying in second place, she was one of the favourites for a podium, but despite not competing in the final, she still secured a 5th place finish.
GB Park and Pipe Half Pipe skier Madi Rowlands just missed out on the finals of the Copper Mountain Ski Halfpipe World Cup, but secured a very respectable 11th place overall. Rowan Cheshire finished in 29th place and for the men, Murray Buchan finished 23rd overall, and Pete Speight in 33rd position.
Aerials skier Lloyd Wallace finished in 17th place at the Beida Lake Aerials World Cup in China, the opening World Cup of the season, performing his top jump, a lay double-full full and a triple twisting triple, In Sunday’s competition Wallace finished in 28th place in the second World Cup in Beida Lake.

After finishing 20th in qualification in Val Thorens and 24th in Arosa, British Ski Cross racer Emily Sarsfield made up a few places in Montafon, Austria, finishing in 18th place and missing out on qualification for the finals by just two places.
For the British Snowboard Cross team, Zoe Gillings-Brier missed out on qualification for the finals of the Montafon Snowboard Cross World Cup, finishing in 25th place in her World Cup return. Teammate Maisie Potter finished in 30th on her World Cup debut.

This weekend saw GB Park and Pipe athletes tackle the elements in Copper Mountain, with heavy snow and high winds making tricky conditions for both the Dew Tour and Rev Tour events taking place.
After a brilliant second place in the jump part of the Dew Tour contest, James ‘Woodsy’ Woods couldn’t quite get in a clean run on the rails, finishing 12th overall. For the girls in the ski contest, Izzy Atkin was on form against the best skiers in the world, securing 4th place overall, with Katie Summerhayes just behind her in 8th.
In the snowboard contest at Dew Tour, Katie Ormerod finished in 6th place in the jib contest.
GB Park and Pipe’s Rowan Cheshire and Madi Rowlands continued to battle the conditions at Rev Tour in their first Half Pipe competition of the season. Rowan showed that she is back on form with a third place podium finish against a strong field, whilst teammate Madi Rowlands finished in sixth position.
In the Alpine World Cup, British Delancey Alpine Team athletes Dave Ryding and Alex Tilley both claimed some important World Cup points. In Val d’Isere Dave Ryding put in a solid second run to move up six places from run one, and claim 17th place in the World Cup Slalom.
Over in Sestriere, Italy, Tilley had great result in the World Cup Slalom, claiming 22nd position.

It was a successful Saturday for GB Park and Pipe in Moechengladbach, Germany in the third Big Air World Cup of the season when Katie Ormerod claimed silver in the women’s finals and Billy Morgan took bronze. After her bronze at the Snowboard Big Air World Cup and Olympic test event in Alpensia, Korea the previous weekend, Ormerod stepped up to finish second behind Austrian Anna Gasser. Miyabi Onitsuka (JPN) took third. GB Park and Pipe’s Aimee Fuller finished within the top 10, in 9th place. Billy Morgan fought hard for his third place finish behind Roope Tonteri (FIN) in first place and Jonas Boesiger (SUI). Rowan Coultas claimed 13th place, just missing out on a place in finals, and Jamie Nicholls was 21st overall.
