Chris O’Brien, the MD of the Nevis Range Mountain Experience in Scotland has been shortlisted for the Business Leader of the Year at the 2022 Highland Business Awards.

Ski world cup racing squad members take action to save season after UK sport withdraws funding programme
British skiers Dave Ryding, Charlie Guest, Charlie Raposo, Billy Major and Laurie Taylor jointly launched a Crowdfunding Campaign on 14 August in an effort to keep their dreams of success alive following a decision by UK sport to withdraw funding for Alpine, Cross-Country and Para Nordic athletes as the organisation deem the three disciplines to not be investible for World Class Programme support.
Ski and snowboard holidays by train – Travelski Express adds three new resorts to its list
Travelski Express has added more packages to its programme and now includes the popular resorts of Val Thorens, Courchevel and La Rosiere.

All the ski areas in Andorra will be available on one lift pass this winter offering skiers and snowboarders more than 300km (190 miles) of slopes.
The Grandvalira pass is a culmination of expansion and amalgamation of all of Andorra’s ski areas which are sandwiched between France and Spain in the Pyrenees.
Zermatt joins list of glaciers temporarily closed for ski and snowboard activities because of ‘unprecedented’ high temperatures
The Swiss resort of Zermatt has temporarily suspended year-round skiing and snowboarding on its glacier due to high temperatures in the Alps during Spring and Summer.
The slopes have been open daily for many years now, except for a break of about three months at the start of the worldwide pandemic in spring 2020.

London Ski & Snowboard Festival returns to Battersea Park in October
The London Ski & Snowboard Festival is making a return to Battersea Park from 27 – 30 October, and Smart Group, the new organisers, claim it is going to be bigger and better than ever.
The four-day festival will have a host of ski and snowboard related exhibitors as well as an entertainment programme which includes Team GB athletes, après ski, performances from professional ski and snowboard athletes on a 140ft ski jump, a practice slope, and a torchlit toboggan race.

James McIntosh, a co-founder of The Lecht ski centre in Scotland, died on 15 March at the age of 71.
James, who was better known as ‘Tosh’, helped establish The Lecht in 1977 with three friends and later became the ski area’s operations director.

The Gamsleiten Kriterium attracts more than 1,000 skiers and snowboarders who race down the Gamsleiten 2 piste to a specially marked out area where the keys to the new car are buried in the snow along with more than 30 other treasure chests containing free holidays and other prizes.
