New lifts will be among the improvements skiers and snowboarders will find in Cortina d’Ampezzo this season. The famous Italian resort in te Dolomites will open its lift system on 28 November 2020 and the last ski area on its piste map to close will be the Faloria on 5 May 2021, making once more Cortina the destination with the longest ski season in the Dolomites.
Attractions being offered by Cortina include the FIS Alpine Ski World Championships from 7-21 February 2021.
On the slopes, the past winter season has seen the inauguration of the new Freccia nel Cielo gondola, from the town center to the slopes of Col Druscié, as well as the opening of the new slope Lino Lacedelli for athletes training in the Cinque Torri area.
This winter season will see further improvements in the Tofana ski area. Ra Valles has a new chair lift with an intermediate stop making it easier for skiers and snowboarders to reach Rifugio Ra Valles, which offers its guests a stunning panoramic terrace and the highest Pizzeria of the Dolomites.
In order to safeguard tourists and locals, new covid guidelines will be applied. There will be social distancing, hand sanitisers, and personal protection masks will be regulated on ski slopes and lifts.
