Delancey British National Alpine Championships kick off this weekend, and World Cup Finals for GB Park and Pipe snowboarders & British Snowboard Cross

Delancey British Alpine Team

All the top names in British Alpine skiing will be heading to France for the start of the Delancey British National Alpine Championships, which begin on Sunday. Returning for its third year running to Tignes, the biggest event on the British Alpine Ski Racing calendar will see the best British ski racers battling it out for the Senior and Junior British Championship honours from 26th March until 2nd April. 

Fresh from his 8th place at the World Cup Finals in Aspen, Dave Ryding will head to Tignes to contest the Slalom and he will be joined by other top British names at the Champs, including Charlie Raposo, Laurie Taylor, Billy Major and Robert Poth. For the ladies, Alex Tilley travels to Tignes following her top 20 World Cup finish, and she will be joined by Charlie Guest and Cara Brown as well as a host of rising Alpine stars.  

 

GB Park and Pipe

The GB Park and Pipe snowboarders are in the Czech Republic for the last Snowboard Slopestyle World Cup of the season. Aimee Fuller, Jamie Nicholls,

Billy Morgan, Rowan Coultas and Matt McCormick will tackle the qualifiers tomorrow, with finals on Saturday.

 

After claiming 16th place at the Men’s Snowboard Halfpipe World Championships in Laax, Glen Ironside will compete in the Snowboard Halfpipe Europa Cup in Kühtai, Austria on Sunday.

 

British Snowboard Cross

Zoe Gillings-Brier World Champs 2017

Zoe Gillings-Brier and Maisie Potter will tackle their last Snowboard Cross World Cup of the season this weekend in Veysonnaz, Switzerland. Qualification is on Friday with two races on Saturday and Sunday.

 

British Speed Skiing

The Speed Skiing season is still in full swing, with British Speed Skiing star Jan Farrell in action this weekend at the Speed Skiing World Championships in Idre Fjäll, Sweden. 18 medals are up for grabs in six categories on the steep ‘Choken’ slope, which features a drop of 48 degrees.

 

World Junior Freestyle Championships

British Ski and Snowboard have named their 19-strong squad for the World Junior Freestyle Championships in Chiesa in Valmalenco,Italy from 3rd to 7th April.
