THEY say there is no such things as a free lunch writes Skier & Snowboarder magazine editor Frank ‘Scoop’ Baldwin – and this was the case when I was invited to sample the fantastic food on offer through Huski, the company that delivers delicious meals prepared in the French Alps direct to your ski accommodation.
This year Huski, which delivers to more than 250 resorts, is working with the travel agency Skiline to offer self-catering clients the option of booking prepared meals as part of their ski holidays.
And I can vouch to the fact the food is of a very high standard. I sampled wild mushroom pate, hoisin duck, mini salmon Wellington, and butternut squash with goats cheese as starters, tucked into a selection of the main courses which included roasted red pepper and tomato soup, tartiflette, chicken Savoyarde, and vegetable lasagne, and finished off by trying the chocolate tort and cherry almond tart – and believe me, this is just a small selection of what’s on offer on the Huski menu which also caters for all dietary requirements.

After all that food I thought it only polite to offer to help Huski chef Nick Casey and Skiline’s Angus Kinloch with the washing up – the only trouble was, they accepted my offer!
* … I would have taken some pics of the food to make your mouth water – but we ate it all before I had the chance! However, our tasting session was caught on film which we’ll post as soon as it is edited.
