As the 23/24 ski season approaches, winter sports enthusiasts can look forward to an array of exciting new offerings and innovative enhancements at top resorts around the world.
From expanded skiable acreage and state-of-the-art technology to luxurious accommodations and breathtaking amenities, these resorts are raising the bar to provide unforgettable experiences for guests. Here are plenty of reasons to book a snow trip this winter.
Aspen Snowmass, Colorado: New skiable terrain (Pandora’s) on Aspen Mountain
Set to open for the 2023-24 season, Aspen Mountain is increasing its skiable acreage by more than 20 per cent. The area, called Pandora’s, is currently under development and will be the mountain’s first significant addition since the opening of the Silver Queen Gondola in December of 1985. Pandora’s will be accessed via a high-speed quad and will include 1,220 vertical feet, more than 150 acres and 15 new trails as well as gladed areas, ranging from intermediate to advanced terrain. Not only does the addition diversify Aspen Mountain’s terrain mix to offer a great pitch for skiing, but it also acts as a functional hedge against future climate-challenged ski seasons: with its north-facing, high elevation terrain (all above 10,000 ft.), Pandora’s is ideal for holding snow in seasons when natural snowfall is less plentiful. aspensnowmass.com
