GB Team member Billy won the bronze during the inaugural men’s Snowboard big air during the 2018 Winter Olympics in in PyeongChang – the first ever British male snowboard athlete to win an Olympic medal.

Although he spent less than 48 hours in Scotland Billy managed to see much of what Scotland has to offer in terms of snow sports, visiting Glencoe Mountain pistes and at Nevis Range. At both locations he led sessions for some excited local youngsters in the terrain parks, encouraging them to follow his journey into the sport, which began with him learning to snowboard on artificial slopes in Southampton.

Chair of Ski-Scotland and owner of Glencoe Mountain Resort, Andy Meldrum, said: “He loved it here at Glencoe and it’s a pity he couldn’t have stayed longer. It was really rewarding to see how inspiring these youngsters found his visit.”
