Bertrand de Monvallier, one of the founders of Oxygene Ski & Snowboard School, passed away recently following a 10-month battle with illness.
A statement released by the company said: “The entire Oxygene family is devastated by his loss and for anyone that had ever met Bertrand, they will understand what it means to lose someone that was so inspirational and passionate about skiing, life and the business that he and his brothers have built over the past 30 years.”
Bertrand help establish the Oxygene ski & snowboard School in the French resort of La Plagne in 1992. This was soon followed by an ski equipment hire shop, and then in 1997, the company expanded to Val d’Isère.
In the year 2000, an adaptive ski programme was introduced and it is now an important part of the overall Oxygene offering.
In 2016, Oxygene acquired the 3 Valleys ski school Magic in Motion and started to expand its destinations that today include 14 resorts in the French Alps.
