  Sir Tom Moore became a media star last year when he raised £33million for charity by walking laps of his garden to celebrate his 100^th birthday.

  The nation mourned this national hero when he passed away on 2 February this year, but his fundraising legacy lives on and Sir Tom Moore’s daughter has set the ‘100 Challenge’ on what would have been his 101st Birthday on Saturday 1 May. read more

• Organiser followed medical guidance after 16 students on British ski instructor course in France tested positive for covid

  Inghams, Ski Total and Flexiski holidays have now been suspended until 2 April which means customers of these companies will only have around two weeks in which to go skiing at the end of the season – and that’s depends on many ski resorts opening their lifts and UK travel restrictions being lifted by then. read more

  Cortina d’Ampezzo, known as the Queen of the Dolomites, had long been waiting for the event. The town was originally appointed to host the Olympics in 1944, but due to the Second World War, it had to wait 12 more years for the event that would establish its positions as a popular destination for winter tourists from all over the world. read more

• Graham Bell prepares for his first Dancing On Ice performance with a stand in partner

  Ski Sunday presenter Graham Bell’s short time on the ITV show Dancing on Ice has already been dramatic.

  The former British racer’s professional skating partner, Yebin Mok, suffered a terrible injury to her leg during training which has put her out of action for at least three weeks. read more
