Day five of the English Alpine Ski Championships was a busy day for all, as the FIS racers, Under 16s and Under 10/12s raced across three of Bormio’s pistes today.
On the Stelvio piste the FIS racers took on two Super Gs. And it was two British racers, Jessica Anderson and Owen Vinter, who were fastest overall in both the Super G races, fighting off competition from two strong international fields.

English Alpine Ski Championships 2020 – Day 1

The English Alpine Ski Championships began today in Bormio, Italy with hundreds of young racers battling it out across two race pistes.
The action started with the FIS Slalom on the Stelvio piste and U10/U12 GS races on the Stella Alpina piste, with both slopes in spring like condition with the warm weather.

They were all the rage in the 1980’s, but lost their appeal for a while as skiers and snowboarders started to favour the separate ski jackets and trousers or sallopettes.

Schladming opens new 10-seater gondola – maximum comfort for skiers and state-of-the-art technology
The Austrian ski resort, Schladming-Dachstein in Styria, has opened a new 10-seater gondola replacing the old six-seater lift on the Planai ski area.
The new gondola can transport up to 3,800 people per hour – increase of over 70% (capacity of previous gondola was 2,200ph) – which means that waiting times for winter sport enthusiasts are a thing of the past.

Oneskee fashion designers look to the future after attracting £250,000 investment
Snow sports brand Oneskee has secured a £250,000 funding boost which will help fund the company’s exciting plans for 2020 and beyond.
Oneskee received the investment from venture capital firm Midven in a deal that will allow the clothing firm to grow its distribution network. It will also see a range of new products launched like some of the examples featured here.
