There will be more ways for British skiers and snowboarder to reach the resorts in southern Austria this coming season following an announcement by Ryanair that the airline is to reintroduce flights to Klagenfurt airport in Carinthia.
There are several ski areas in this part of Austria and popular resorts for UK visitors include Nassfeld, Schladming and Bad Kleinkirchheim.
Klagenfurt is also close to the Slovenian border making resorts such as Bled and Kranjska Gora also more accessible.
The Ryanair service will operate twice-weekly from 1 November 2022 from London Stansted and once a week from Manchester from 17 December.
Ryanair’s Andreas Gruber, the Ryanair spokesman for the Germany, Austria and Switzerland, said: “Ryanair is delighted to resume operations from Klagenfurt Airport this winter with four exclusive routes from Brussels, Dublin, London and Manchester which will help position Klagenfurt and the Carinthian region as one of the top ski destinations in Europe.”
