Loyal customers visiting Captains Cabin in Sevenoaks, Kent just before Christmas were treated to champagne, party balloons and £500 worth of gift vouchers to help celebrate the store’s 25 years in the ski business.
The original owners Jenny Munden and Carole Terry joined Pasq and Naomi Vece, plus friends and customers at the newly refurbished and extended shop in St. John’s Hill. It now has a completely fresh look from the original humble beginnings that Jenny and Carole started a quarter of a century ago.
After 17 very successful years, the two ladies, who often had to battle against the odds in what was then a male dominated ski industry, decided it was time to hand over the baton to someone else.
Pasq Vece, who had been their shop manager for four years took over the business with his wife Naomi who were both keen to put their personal stamp on the business. In the last eight years, they have doubled the store’s turnover, almost doubled the floor space, installed their own bespoke ski workshop and developed a thriving on-line shop.
The duo have put together their own team of experienced staff and are looking forward to continuing success in the specialist wintersports market.
