Snozone won the ‘Best Sporting Venue’ category at the School Travel Awards for the third time at a recent ceremony held at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London.
This is the sixth time Snozone has been in the finals and this year it was up against The London Stadium, Manchester United Museum & Stadium Tour, Silverstone Interactive Museum Northamptonshire, Twickenham Stadium and World Rugby Museum and UK Sailing Academy Isle of Wight.
Snozone operates two UK indoor real snow slopes in Milton Keynes and Yorkshire within Xscape leisure & retail centres. Overseas it operates Snozone Madrid.
A spokesperson for Snozone said: “We are so proud to receive this award for the third time, especially in the company of such renowned and admired brands and operators. We would like to thank all the teachers who voted for us as this underpins our dedicated commitment to support schools and enable students to develop confidence, skills and resilience at our UK venues.”
In addition to the skiing and snowboarding school lessons, Snozone also provides accredited assessment for the Snowsports components of GCSE, A Level and BTEC PE & Sport and also deliver Business Studies talks to students about how Snozone operates as a commercial operation.
Snozone also organises its own school holiday camps and aside from sporting activity on the slopes, support ‘good citizenship’ modules off piste with first aid courses for children ‘mini medics’, sign language lessons and conversational French or Spanish lessons.
Snozone claims to be the only European indoor snow sports operator to operate its own disability snow school, to support its core values of inclusivity and thereby offering ‘Sport for All’.
