James, who was better known as ‘Tosh’, helped establish The Lecht in 1977 with three friends and later became the ski area’s operations director.

A statement released by The Lecht said: “It is with great sadness that we have to share the passing of James McIntosh MBE, operations director and co-founder of the Lecht Ski Centre.
