As resorts across Norway start opening for the 2024/25 ski season, Ski Safari is preparing to send more customers there than ever before.

This growth is led by huge increases for Norway’s West Coast and multi-centre ski safaris.

Passengers to Voss are up 448% year on year, passengers to Myrkdalen are up 222% and multi-centre passengers are up 823%. Ski Safari expects these numbers to continue to grow as they’re compared to end-of-season figures for 2023/24, and there are still some fantastic offers available for this winter.

Product & Sales Manager, Andy Hemingway, says: “Having lived in Norway for five years and skied there for over 22 years, I’ve long been a fan and have been promoting the country in the UK market most of my working life. The snow-sure destinations, friendly locals and uncrowded slopes really hit the spot for me and I’m delighted to see more and more people from the UK able to enjoy the same experience. This proven formula has provided consistent growth every single year since I introduced it to our programme at Ski Safari in 2012, and this year is no exception.

“The most significant resort growth has come from the Western Norway resorts of Myrkdalen – up 222% – and Voss – up 448% – both nestled in the iconic fjord region. These neighbouring resorts (which can be skied on the same lift pass) attract skiers of all abilities, with wide and gentle runs for beginners and extensive off-piste for the more adventurous. They’re both great value, but our customers are also attracted by the opportunity to visit the fjords, taking a sightseeing cruise on an electric boat along the Nærøyfjord and riding the famous Flåm Railway. The two resorts are just two hours from Bergen where it’s easy to add a city stay too.

“These non-ski add-ons have driven the biggest holiday growth this winter, with our ever-expanding multi-centre ski holidays up a whopping 823% year on year. Our signature ‘ski safari’ holidays allow skiers and boarders to experience more than just a regular ski holiday; tick off a bucket-list adventure like seeing the northern lights or the fjords, or add a stay in one of the beautiful coastal cities of Bergen or Oslo.”
