After a fresh dump of snow, with 50cm at altitude and 26cm in the village, Val d’Isère has announced that its slopes will open for skiers and snowboarders to enjoy from Saturday 30 November 2024.
Val d’Isère’s First Tracks event will take place over the weekend, officially marking the opening of the winter season.
Visitors can look forward to a showcase of the latest skis, snowboards, and accessories available to try, as well as a fun-filled program of festivities. More than 20 of the best ski brands, including Rossignol, Salomon, and Atomic will be available, as well as mulled wine tastings, live music, raffles, and exclusive screenings of extreme sports films, kicking the season off on a high. Day passes over the Fast Tracks weekend are priced at €61, with special offers on two to six-night stays also available.
As snow continues to fall on the Tignes – Val d’Isère ski area, from larch forests to glacier peaks, snow fanatics can check details of slope and lift openings as they are announced live on the Val d’Isère website along with weather forecasts and webcams.
This year, visitors to the picturesque alpine resort can look forward to highly-anticipated new hotel openings as well as exciting new restaurants and enhanced après-ski and entertainment offerings. There will also be a brand new Vallon Gondola, providing an optimised ride up the high-altitude slopes to the Pisaillas Glacier for up to 10 passengers at a time, reaching an impressive 2,790 metres in under seven minutes. The new gondola promises a quicker, safer and more comfortable experience, and most importantly, one with a lower environmental impact on the natural area.
