Verbier Tourism will be helping peak Londoners’ interest in the upcoming ski season with a rare chance to experience the resort’s famously fun apres-ski vibe on home turf.
Over two exclusive nights at the end of this month, the Iron Bloom Shoreditch will be converted into a winter wonderland, recreating the Alpine town’s world-famous party atmosphere and cementing Verbier’s reputation as a place to be seen after a day sloping about.
With an exclusive guest list of just 120 apres-ski seekers on both Friday 29 and Saturday 30 September, lucky Londoners will enjoy VIP access to some of Verbier’s authentic flavours as they unwind in the city. Swapping high peaks for skyscrapers, the pop-up hot-spot will be open from 6.30pm-10pm, serving up authentic local flavours, from Verbier beers and alpine gin to Swiss wine.
Verbier may be the most famous resort in the Val de Bagnes, but the area is also known as the World Capital of Raclette, with the historic dish’s origins dating back to the 1200s. For a true taste of the mountains, revellers’ hunger will melt away as they tuck into a traditional raclette and become expert racleurs. What’s more, cheese-lovers will have the opportunity to enjoy a masterclass with Verbier’s biggest cheese connoisseur and Raclette maestro Eddy Baillifard – one of the region’s unmissable personalities – who has turned his dairy skills into a delicious art form.
As you would expect from Switzerland’s liveliest resort, there will be Swiss DJ’s (Claire McGregor and Garance) in the house spinning classic apres-ski tunes to ensure a memorable Verbier-style night out in the heart of London. The event will also offer an insight into the region’s annual PALP music festival, the week-long Alpine musical event which has been showcasing the region’s top artistic and culinary talent against a dramatic mountain backdrop for the past 12 years.
With the two-night pop-up Alpine club forming part of a weeklong pre-season promotion to launch the winter season and showcase the ski resort’s charms, Verbier Tourism hopes the event will be just the lift Londoners need this autumn. Free entry includes four alcoholic drinks and food.
