World’s top female snowboarders help The North Face design new Team Kit range

by Fashion Editor Clare Meaney

The North Face, as you may have guessed, was named after the coldest, most unforgiving side of the mountain.

In 1966 the two hiking enthusiasts opened their first tiny shop in San Francisco selling their own designs of mountaineering apparel and equipment. Since then the company has gone from strength to strength offering equipment to mountaineers, climbers, explorers, runners, skiers and snowboarders.

The North Face ski wear has already established itself through style and quality, but this season’s new womenswear snowboarding collection is destined to turn some heads.

This new range has been designed by five of the world’s top female snowboarders – Jess Kimura, Leanne Pelosi, Mary Rand, Amanda Hankison and Marion Haerty – which can only be a good thing.

The female specific Team Kit features removable powder skirt and adjustable bib-waists, which provide extra comfort for those ladies who want to snowboard all day long.

The range comes in an array of bright and dazzling colours – blocks of purple, blue and orange combined with the extra durable elbow pads.
